Worship

                   The sanctuary at Clough.
Psalm 150:4-6 says: “Praise God with drum and dance! Praise God with strings and pipe! Praise God with loud cymbals! Let every living thing praise the Lord!”

Worship is a core value for us at Clough Church. We believe that passionate, authentic worship will bring God glory. We translate that to mean our music is modern and a style you would hear on the local Christian radio station. We also value the older traditional styles, so we occasionally sing them. Again, we believe worship needs to be authentic so we don’t force a genre of music in our service. Most Sundays we are led by a praise team who has a variety of instrumentalists and vocalists. We also have a choir who sings a variety of styles of music for our 10:15am service.

What to expect at 9:00am worship service:
When you arrive at Clough Church on a Sunday morning for the 9:00am service you will be greeted by people already in worship, the pastor and the musicians. We have this service in the Chapel. This service is a more informal service but with Holy Communion each week. Please bring your coffee and other refreshments into the worship space with you. We want you to be comfortable. Remember you are coming into God’s house, into God’s living room. We will then invite you to join us in the worship area where you will be given a worship bulletin. It will give you a snap shot of what is happening in the next few weeks. Don’t worry if this overwhelming, you can simply take out the sermon note page, and find a Clough pen located in the pew back in front of you. This is all you will need for worship.

We do ask you if you are comfortable to do so, to fill out our connection card. It is a yellow paper with information about you and about us. If you are interested in connecting to a ministry area this is an easy way to sign up. (Expect a phone call from someone if you do indeed sign up).

During this service we bring our tithes and offerings as well as our connection cards forward during Holy Communion.

Worship will begin and we invite you to be you. For some of us that means we stand and clap our hands, while others are more comfortable sitting and listening to the voices. Remember whatever is authentic to you as this is your time to connect with your Creator.

What to expect at 10:15am worship service:
When you arrive at Clough Church on a Sunday morning, for the 10:15 service, you will be greeted at the door and then by another person in the lobby who will help you find coffee, the children’s ministry area and answer other questions you might have. Some of the things you might see in our service are things like, Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month. (If you want Holy Communion every week, please join us at 9:00am). You will also notice we have candles and an altar rail for people to pray. We offer candles for Christ’s light to brighten and shine into and transform your life because of the authentic worship you have participated in. So join us to light a candle for yourself or someone else. You may also notice people praying or people praying for each other. In the book of James 5: 14, we are called to pray over those who are sick and to anoint them with oil. If you are in need of prayer please just come to the altar rail and we will join you if you would like.
